Maryland sea bass season may have opened back up last Friday, but as far as I know nobody has been able to get out to the ocean for them. Mother Nature brought in a strong nor’easter over the weekend, and even though winds have switched, they are still blowing hard. Tomorrow looks to start out a little puffy, but Saturday and Sunday look to shape up. Hopefully the ocean fleet gets untied from the dock and headed out the inlet. Inshore fishing was dampened thanks to the wind too, but recently some folks have gotten out and found there are still plenty of fish around.
Captain Jason Mumford of Lucky Break Charters was out yesterday afternoon and again today for some shakedown fishing and he was able to bend some rods for his anglers on both trips. There is a pretty good rockfish bite at the route 50 bridge and Captain Jason has put plenty of flounder in the net as well.
