Just one day after the first white marlin of the season was caught by Andy Urban on board the In The Black fishing out of Sunset Marina, Bo Appel fishing on the Fish in OC charter partner Boss Hogg with Captain Brian Porter also out of Sunset Marina caught and released the first blue marlin of the season. The crew also caught 12 yellowfin tuna on ballyhoo and spreader bars in the Norfolk Canyon. Here are some awesome shots of their fish!
The Marli with Captain Mark Hoos out of Sunset Marina is on an absolute roll! The below group of anglers from Centerville, MD limited out with 21 yellowfin tuna and also had a 149 pound mako aboard the Marli today with Captain Mark Hoos and mate Mark Stephens.
The Wrecker with Captain Jeremy Blunt fishing out of The Ocean City Fishing Center had another awesome day with the yellowfin tuna as well. For the second day in a row Captain Jeremy put his crew on a limit of 21 yellowfin tuna in the 30-40 pound range on ballyhoo and spreader bars in the Norfolk Canyon. The crew also released another 9 yellowfin.
On the inshore front, Captain Chris Mizurak from the Angler reported a little bit slower pick of sea bass than has been experienced for the last week or so, but there were some quality fish brought over the rail.
The Judith M fishing out of Bahia Marina on 22nd street and bayside Ocean City has had some decent luck with the bottom fishing lately catching some nice sea bass and some keeper tautog.
Captain Jeff Coats of Pitboss Fishing had a good day with the light tackle fish today fishing the route 50 bridge and the south jetty. Captain Jeff put his crew on bluefish, hickory shad and throwback rockfish and everyone had a great time.
Bear from the Oceanic Pier submitted this photo of Andy from Milford, DE who caught this 29.5″ rockfish on a Tsunami swim shad this morning on the route 50 bridge.
Today was day 1 of the Ocean City Marlin Club Memorial Day Tournament and it was a pretty busy day at the scales at Sunset Marina in West Ocean City. Here’s what the board looks like after one day of fishing.
