First Flounder of the Ocean City Season 2024

The first flounder of the 2024 season have captured in Ocean City, Maryland!!

I caught the first flounder of the season in 2o22 so I can tell you that this is an exciting time for these guys.  I only caught one fish that was 18″ long, but these guys did it in grand style.

Captain Kevin Twilley, Cop Mike and Big Mike were fishing the north end of the Thorofare yesterday when they caught six keepers between 8 and 11 pounds.  The first “official” fish of the season came when Captain Kevin Twilley muscled up a 29″, 9 pounder on an orange Deadly Double baited with a white short, curly Otter Tail and a live mantis shrimp.  The rest of the fish were caught on chartreuse Deadly Double’s baited with straight, split Otter Tails and whole Nathan’s bun length hot dogs.  Congratulations to the crew on their truly unbelievable catch….really, unbelievable!  Like unBSleivable!!

Oh, and Happy April Fool’s Day!!
