First Sheepshead of the Season

By Scott Lenox

First Sheepshead of the Season

We had one of the nicest days this spring so far today with very light winds, warm temps and sunny skies all day long.  It was a great day to be outside in general and an even better day to be out fishing!

The first sheepshead of the season was captured today and the story that goes along with it is pretty good.  Angler Mike Ahlfeldt was flounder fishing with Brian Brannan in the Thorofare today using Deadly Tackle Deadly Doubles in orange baited with white Gulp when they were surprised by this beautiful 21″ sheepshead.  I was just as surprised as they were.

Surf fisherman extraordinaire David Moore had another fabulous day of fishing the Assateague surf today.  David had five nice stripers that were all released.

Brian Reynolds caught and released this 33 3/4″ striper in the Assateauge surf today as well.

Flounder fishing with some bonus rockfish below!
