It was a pretty decent weather day today in and around Ocean City. The sun was shining quite a bit, temperatures were really pleasant and the wind wasn’t too bad. It was a very fishable day, but until the kids get out of school weekdays are going to see light fishing pressure.
The first sheepshead of the season was caught today on the south jetty by Captain Dave Caffrey of On the Run Charters out of Bahia Marina. The first sheepshead was a nice one at 25″ and 10 pounds, 8 ounces and was caught in 64 degree water on a sand flea by Hanna Bartell. The crew also released around 20 rockfish and a few tautog on the trip as well. Congratulations to Hanna and Captain Dave!
Bear down at the Oceanic Pier in downtown Ocean City sent me a couple of shots from some nice fish that were caught on the pier today. Mike and Ed from Bryontown, MD had some fun fishing and came across a nice flounder and a triggerfish while dropping Fishbites and Gulp baits.
Captain Marc Spagnola of Dusk to Dawn Bowfishing was out on the south bay looking for clean water and had some luck finding it. Captain Marc put this shooter on some good action for a couple of southern rays.
