The weather in Ocean City was absolutely BEAUTIFUL today! Light winds, and I know I saw 78 degrees on my truck display today! It was awesome! There were people out doing yard work, the garden center at Home Depot was stocking inventory and my buddy John Woolridge took advantage of the nice weather to try his luck at fishing…here’s his report.
I put my boat back in the water Sunday afternoon in anticipation of this warm weather coming. The water at my canal on the St Martin River in Ocean Pines on Sunday was 43° and 42° at the Rt 90 bridge. I fished that evening and never got a bite…
I went out with my son Grayson this afternoon and the water in our canal was 54° and 53° at the 90 bridge. It was 57° up near River Run Golf Course.
I caught & released this 23″ (very healthy) rockfish across the river from our house near the marshes in open water. It was my last cast before heading home. Funny how that seems to happen a lot! I hope it’s a sign of good fishing to come.
I hope John’s right about the fishing to come also! This is certainly a good sign!
