The weather started out pretty crummy this morning with overcast skies and rain in the area. When I drove the little man to school this morning it was absolutely pouring down rain, but by early this afternoon the rain had stopped and the wind was pretty calm. The sun didn’t shine through the clouds once today that I saw, but when the rain stopped it at least got fishable.
Captain Monty Hawkins of the party boat Morning Star out of the Ocean City Fishing Center reported in that the ocean turned out a lot nicer than the weatherman projected it would be. Captain Monty had my friend Jack Power and the guys out today and even though the fishing was “so-so” everyone had enough for a fish fry’s worth.
Yesterday while I was in the back bay having absolutely zero luck, Stephen Humphrey was using a Gulp bait to catch this doormat flounder. Stephen’s wife Megan reported in that the 22″ flattie was caught yesterday morning at around 10:15 in front of Castaways in the south bay. Unbelievably awesome fantastic picture by Diane Kull.
Marc Turner caught this northern puffer in the surf in north Ocean City over the weekend on a slice of bunker/squid bait and submitted through our Facebook page.
