Fish in OC on the Marli and MSSA Tuna-ment Results

The Fish in OC crew had a great opportunity to fish on board the Marli today with Captain Mark Hoos and Mate Mark Stephens while filming an upcoming episode of the Hooked on OC television show.  We left the dock at 4AM to get out there first thing in the morning because the bite has been early, and set up camp at the recent hot spot inside the Rock Pile.

Mate Mark set out the spread of Ballyhoo and spreader bars. and within about 10 minutes we had our first Dolphin.

Just a little while later we had three Yellowfin pile on.  We pulled one fish off of a spreader bar and caught the other two that were on Ballyhoo baits.

The smaller fish was a 40 or so pounder and the larger fish was in the 55-60 pound range.

All in all we ended up with 10 Dolphin, including a 20 pounder, and two nice Yellowfin.  It was a great day on board the Marli with Captain Mark Hoos, Mate Mark Stephens, owner Mike Bostick, “Little” Mike Bostick, John, “Little” John, Spence and Aiden.  Aiden was our 12 year old angler that caught his first offshore fish!
