What a difference a day makes! Absolutely beautiful weather yesterday was followed up by garbage weather today. It was chilly, there were intermittent rain showers all day and the wind was cranking pretty good out of the east….not a good day for fishing. As I was out delivering Fish in OC magazines and running though the rain from stop to stop I was pretty certain that I wasn’t going to get any fishing reports from today……wrong!
I got a text from Bear right as I was getting to the Oceanic Pier with a photo of Matt and Chad from Pennsylvania with the message, “they have been in the rain waiting for these fish.” Well it was worth the wait for Matt and Chad as they fished the Pier most of the morning in the rain (with no rain gear) and put the hurt on the bluefish. The duo caught several big bluefish on cut bait from the south end of the pier with fish ranging between 30″ and 36″. It might go without saying that they had the place all to themselves.
