Today was a little cool by May standards, but it was nice and sunny and the wind wasn’t blowing for once. The water in the back bays has gotten a little dirty with the runoff from the recent rains, but there are still some bluefish and rockfish to be caught if you want to give it the time.
My buddy Captain Jeff Coats of Pitboss Fishing had a tough morning as he and his family said goodbye to his black lab Bristol after a long illness. Those of you that have owned dogs and lost them know too well the pain that is associated with the loss of a pet and when that pet is a beloved, faithful gunning dog the pain can cut a little deeper. Captain Jeff and I agree that one way to help get back to feeling normal is a little #fishingtherapy. Captain Jeff and his fiancé Karen participated in a little fishing therapy this afternoon and had some great luck with the rockfish and bluefish. The Pitboss crew threw hard bodied lures and Big Bird’s Roy Rigs at the route 50 and route 90 bridges and caught some school sized rock and some snapper bluefish….all the while thinking of you…..and Bristol.
