Flat Calm Conditions with Marlin and Flounder

Flat Calm Conditions with Marlin and Flounder

It was another hot one today with high humidity, but the wind has been pretty non-existent so it was flat calm beautiful both inshore and offshore.  That trend will be changing this weekend as a front moves into the area bringing wind and  a chance of rain into the area on Saturday……and Sunday looks like a wash with 25+ knot winds.  If you plan on hitting the water like I do you’re going to want to take advantage of nice conditions expected tomorrow and Friday….I’ll see you out there.

The marlin bite off in the canyons hasn’t been insane, but it has been good.  Our neighbors to the north off of NJ are experiencing the insane bite right now and those fish will eventually migrate south…..hopefully our weather will cooperate while they’re going by and we can have a chance at them as well.  Captain Joe Drosey of Rhonda’s Osprey had a good day of marlin fishing today.  Captain Joe put Clark and his group form northern Virginia on two blue marlin releases and three white marlin releases.

The crew of Spring Mix II with Captain Chris Watkowski had a good day of trolling in the deep as well today.  Captain Chris put his crew on five releases out of eight white marlin bites and a few mahi on today’s trip.

Yesterday Ellen Wittmyer was fishing with her dad John from Crabs to Go when she released her first ever white marlin.

Captain Monty Hawkins of the Morning Star reported awesome weather and fishing that wasn’t bad either.  “What a fabulous day weather wise. Bite wasn’t bad either! Had two guys limit-out. Dennis Cutcher of Catonsville, MD took the pool with a 24 inch flounder.  Also pictured are Dr. Andy Walther of OC – Mark & Evan Augustine of Pittsburgh, PA & John Bellanca of Lisbon, OH.”

Captain Chase Eberle of Chasin’ Tides Charters fished the bay today and had a good time putting his clients on some snapper bluefish and a couple of keeper flounder.

Dutch Workman took his lucky streak up north yesterday where he landed this keeper flounder that was good for the fish pool and a handful of cash.

Captain Marc Spagnola of Dusk to Dawn Bowfishing had the honor of taking some U.S. servicemen out for some hunting today.  Captain Marc put these heroes on some good shooting for cow nosed and southern rays.  Thank you for your service gentlemen!
