It was a tough day in the ocean for some boats today. The weather was absolutely beautiful…maybe too beautiful. It seems that sometimes fish get skittish when the ocean is too flat and today it was really flat. That made for a tough day of catching for some, but other boats got it done.
The Marli with Captain Mark Hoos was one of the boats that got it done. Leigh Ann Lehmon from South Carolina caught and released her very first white marlin today on the charter boat MARLI with Captain Mark and mate Mark Stephens. Leigh Ann and her crew also caught their limit of bluefin tuna, a gaffer dolphin and released another dozen undersized yellowfin tuna.
Captain Joe Drosey on Rhonda’s Osprey out of Sunset Marina had a good day on the ocean today as well. Captain Joe put his crew on three nice bluefin tuna and a gaffer mahi.
The Angler with Captain Chris Mizurak had some good fishing for sea bass and flounder today, and even threw in a couple of keeper tautog.
The Ocean Princess with Captain Victor Bunting has been having some good fishing lately. Captain Victor has been putting anglers on good numbers of flounder and sea bass and they got a great shot of how flat the ocean was today.
Bear down at the Oceanic Pier sent in a picture of a nice flounder caught on the pier this morning. John from NJ caught this 22″ keeper this morning on a live minnow.
We had the offshore trip for our Fish in OC fishing trip giveaway today on the Spring Mix II out of the Ocean City Fishing Center. We caught several undersize yellowfin tuna and a mahi while filming for an upcoming episode of Hooked on OC. All of our anglers had a great time and it was awesome to fish with some new friends. Here are Michael Agard, Mark Bigos, Amanda Harding and Kaitlyn Bigos with the fish that they caught today.
A huge THANK YOU goes out to owner Paul Lebling for letting us have the boat for the day and to the crew of Captain Steve Selander, mate Marshall Freng and mate Ayrton Pryor for an awesome day on the water.
