It wasn’t the nicest day out there today, but the wind finally let up enough for some of the fleet to get out in the ocean. And even though it was chilly, a little windy and sometimes very misty, it was a decent day to get on the bay and catch a couple fish.
I had the pleasure of heading out with Captain Jason Mumford of Lucky Break Charters for a new episode of Hooked on OC today and we had a great time and caught some nice fish. We fished the south jetty where we caught four nice keeper flounder from 16.25″ to 18″ and then Captain Jason lucked into a really nice grey trout. The big weakfish was 25″ long and weighed in at just under 6 pounds! Awesome fun!
We saw Kevin McNelis and his crew fishing the jetty as well and Kevin reported in two keeper flounder that were 17″ and 19″.
Sea bass fishing wasn’t stellar today thanks to the strong NE winds we’ve been experiencing the past several days, but there were some fish caught. Captain Chris Mizurak of the Angler reported picky fish to start the day, but ended up with a decent catch. I’m certain it will improve next week as the weather does.
Results are in for the Lewes Harbour Marina Canal Flounder Tournament. Congratulations to all of the winners!!
