We ended up having a really nice day today in and around Ocean City and by the time the sun came out it was down right WARM. I saw 80 degrees on the thermometer and since anglers have been cooped up for the past several days with the rain there was plenty of fishing going on today.
Speaking of rain, right about the time I was posting the fishing report last night and talking about how flounder fishing was going to be off for a couple of days because of all the runoff, my buddy Chris Tilghman was posting to make me eat my words. It seems Chris and my other old friend Mike Tuel were out yesterday in the High Brown Water and they actually had some pretty good fishing. Chris and Mike put six keeper flounder and one snapper bluefish in the cooler yesterday proving that when fish get hungry they will find a way to eat no matter the conditions.
Blake Gunther of the Ocean City Fishing Community was out for some floundering today and had some luck as well. Blake admits that the water conditions are less than ideal, but he and Chuck Bauswell will still able to catch a few.
Bear down at the Oceanic Pier says that Amber Smoker, John, “Sandflea” and their crew are down for the weekend and having some pretty good luck fishing the Oceanic Pier and the north sea wall on the inlet. Amber, John and “Sandflea” landed a nice flounder that went in the cooler and Amber and some of the other guys have caught and released tautog up to 19″ and boxed some bluefish along the way as well.
