Hello again! It’s been a few days since my last Daily Angle because it’s been a few days since Mother Nature has allowed many of us to get out. The wind was blowing hard yesterday. So hard in fact, that Captain Monty steered the Morning Star back to the dock early to shorten the butt whooping. Today was a different story. We had an awesome trip aboard the Morning Star this evening with the kids from the Berlin Intermediate School Fishing Academy and the kids had a great time catching some fish. I’ll have a full report on it tomorrow night with photos. Thanks to the awesome weather there were several anglers out today and several fish ended up on the deck.
David and Michael Burt had the Pumpin’ Hard out in the canyons today to see if they could entice a daytime swordfish bite and they were rewarded with some good fishing. The guys were two for three on swordfish bites releasing one fish and putting another in the kill box. Captain Austin Ensor and the #gang are out overnight tonight and I look forward to hearing from them tomorrow.
The beautiful weather allowed for the ocean going party boats to get out today. Captain Chris Mizurak from the Angler reported good fishing with some nice keeper flounder coming over the rail.
On the way out this afternoon we saw Big Bird Cropper throwing Roy Rigs at the south jetty and weren’t surprised to see that he was successful when we returned. Big Bird had good luck with some throwback rockfish and flounder.
John Wooldridge was out on this beautiful evening trolling lures in the north bay where he caught and released some short rockfish by the light of the silvery moon.
John Timmons of the Ocean City Maryland Fishing Community had a great day of flounder fishing north of the route 50 bridge today. John and his wife caught over 30 flounder including these six fat keepers.
