It was a beautiful day in and around Ocean City today with REALLY warm temperatures, sunny skies and wind that wasn’t all that bad. I know I saw 79 on my truck display and except for a breeze out of the south it was a great day for fishing……and for me to get sunburned in the back yard. Thankfully I can live vicariously through some of the guys in our inshore charter boat fleet!
Captain John Prather of Ocean City Guide Service was on the water trying the flounder again and was able to prove that it is improving. Captain John put his party on some short striper action, caught and released one throwback flounder and put this 19 1/2″ beauty in the box. I wouldn’t say that the flounder fishing is on fire yet, but this is a good sign that it is on the uptick.
Captain Jeff Coats of Pitboss Fishing and I are in agreement that there must be a keeper rockfish of 28″ or better around the route 90 bridge so he was there again today giving it a go. Captain Jeff fished solo again and was able to catch and release some more rockfish at route 90 and had one fish that was just short at a little over 26″.
