#gangparents Day 50 Pound Mahi

#gangparents Day 50 Pound Mahi

It was an absolutely beautiful day to be on the water today!  It was hot and humid on land again, and a little warm off the beach, but it was flat calm beautiful and a bad day to be a fish.  Lots of anglers took the day off to spend with family, but some used the day off to fish with family.  Happy Labor Day to you and yours!

My sticker bombing buddy Captain Austin Ensor had the Primary Search out today for #gangparentsday and had a terrific time out in the canyon.  Captain Austin was able to put his mom and dad on their first ever white marlin releases and also pulled this stud of a 50 pound mahi in the boat.

The crew of Spring Mix II had a great day trolling the deep when they released four white marlin (three were first time white marlin releases) and boxed a bunch of nice gaffer sized mahi.

Captain Joe Drosey of Rhonda’s Osprey had one white marlin release for each angler he had on board today for a total of three on the day.

James Vest fished today with wife Heather Vest, daughter Haley Vest and RJ Fleeman at the 20 fathom line and ended the day with seven mahi for the cooler.

The local party boat fleet is doing some damage on the flounder right now and the rails have got plenty of room now that kids are back to school.  Captain Monty Hawkins of the Morning Star reported in that Dean Manna of Carney, MD limited out on flounder and several others had three keepers on today’s trip. Besides Dean; Pictured are pool winner Bob Williams with his 22.5″ fluke, plus Jayden & Vernon Williams all of Wallingford, PA & Wayne Cornelius of Horntown, VA.

Captain Chris Mizurak of the Angler also reported good flounder fishing today with some limits of flounder coming over the rail that included some nice fish.  They also had some balloon action for Blume’s Balloon Round Up.

Jason Ruditys reported in from the American Lady saying that the crew fished the Jackspot today and had some great luck with big sea bass up to 17″.  They also reported a balloon for Blume’s Balloon Round Up.

Speaking of Blume’s Balloon Round Up, there were several more reports in today of balloons coming off of the water.  As Joshua and Emily head back to school I can’t express to them how proud I am of their initiative.  Their goal was 1,000 balloons this summer and they are currently at 1,218.  Keep up the great work everyone!
