Today started off absolutely beautiful with warm temperatures for most of the day, sunny skies and light winds…..to start. Cutting the grass today (yes I’d rather be fishing) it was pleasant and a long sleeve shirt was plenty. As the sun set this evening the wind was blowing pretty good and it had gotten down right chilly. Tomorrow is supposed to be cold for these parts with high’s not getting out of the 30’s and low’s tomorrow night in the 20’s. Wind, cold and Thanksgiving…..probably not going to be much fishing going on tomorrow.
There was a little fishing going on today as I received a report from Captain Monty Hawkins with the Subject “and glad of it!”
Bite was off the hook today! Had a super-limit and headed for home early.
I was “glad of it” because winds, supposed to pick up in the afternoon, came early also. It’s blowing 20+ from the west as I write — starting to get right nautical. (1:15 PM)
Dr Dave Drzewiecki of Pasadena, MD had today’s sea bass pool winner with a 21 incher.
David Gaestel (Crazy Horse Custom Rod & Repair) of Port Republic had a beautiful double – one cbass was 19″, the other 20″.
George Bell of Millersville, MD had a 27″ bluefish. Several other dandies were caught.

DC – Michael Piotrowski & Earl Miller of Philly, PA – John & John Jr Gomeringer of East Norriton, PA – plus mates Joey Marowski & Daniel Altfather (whose 21.5″ jumbo would have won the pool; but crew, of course, aren’t allowed to play! ..nor do they get many opportunities to fish!)
