We’ve got some serious wind pushing in overnight tonight that will be ushering in some cold air over the next couple of days. Thankfully anglers were able to get out today and take advantage of warm temps and calm seas.
Captain Dale Lisi of Foolish Pleasures sent me a text just before 10 AM this morning with the following pic saying that he already had a nice bluefin tuna in the boat.
Captain Dave Caffrey and the crew of On the Run headed out to the tuna grounds today and lucked into this very nice 131 pound bluefin.
Brian Reynolds took advantage of the conditions today as well and he and Johnny O found Brian’s first ever bluefin tuna.
Captain Jason Mumford of Lucky Break Charters was on the jetty again today doing damage to the tautog population. His group had several throwbacks and five keeper fish over 16″.
Big Bird Cropper and Bryan Mindte of Sunset Provisions had a nice day on the bay putting a couple of keeper rockfish in the boat. The keepers were caught “dredging” at the route 50 bridge.
Steve Hadley, Sam Hadley and Melissa and Steve Hudson took turns fighting this big bluefin for over 2 hours. The big fish was 68″ and weighed in at an impressive 235 pounds.
