It was a little breezy again this afternoon, but overall it was another pretty awesome day. I hit the south jetty for a little bit and got on the sheepshead bite that has been so good and after releasing a couple of fish, and some jumbo spot, I headed for the barn. Some of the offshore fleet was headed in the inlet and the white marlin flags were flying once again, and I got several reports of some really good bottom fishing.
Captain Jason Mumford of Lucky Break Charters has been all over the sheepshead on the south jetty recently, and he’s also mixed in some spot, croaker, trout, tautog and some very nice black drum. If you’re looking for some great bottom fishing inshore, now is the time to book one of our inshore charter boats.
Captain Tony Battista of Saltwater Adventures had a couple of productive trips today with some triggerfish and a few flounder this morning and some nice flounder to 22.5″ this afternoon.
Anglers fishing with Captain Chase Eberle of Chasin’ Tides Charters had a great day of bottom fishing ocean structure today with sea bass, flounder, triggerfish and croaker.
Captain Nick Sampson of MobSquad Fishing had an inshore trip that yielded some nice flounder and a manta ray encounter that ended in a safe release.
Brian Mills and crew had a good day at the south jetty today with two keeper sheepshead of 18″ and 22.5″.
Rick Stutzer fished the Assateague Surf with a Deadly Tackle Deadly Double in white and landed two keeper flounder of 18″ and 22″.
