We had a great time on our first ever Fish in OC back bay fishing trip aboard the Happy Hooker today with Captain Randy Swain and mate Loudon Swain. Everyone had a great time and we caught over 25 flounder with two nice keepers of 20″ and 21″. Bob and Mike caught the big fish and Mike’s 21″ fish of 4 pounds, 7 ounces won the Happy Hooker record $400 fish pool. Thanks to everyone that joined us!!
Today was day 1 of the Ocean City Marlin Club’s Small Boat Tournament and there were two fish that hit the leaderboard. There are 34 boats fishing for around $17,000 and most of them will be fishing tomorrow. Here is the current leaderboard. Many thanks to Dave Messick of Hooked on OC for the pics!!
Captain Dave Caffrey of On the Run Charters has been all over the flounder the past few days putting several keepers in the boat for his ocean and bay clients. Captain Dave even caught and released a very small tiger shark on yesterday’s trip to the ocean.
Captain Tony Battista of Saltwater Adventures had two great ocean trips today that ended up with meat in the box. Both parties had keeper sea bass and some triggerfish that Captain Tony reports are biting better every day.
Captain Will on Local Hooker Fishing Cgarters had a great day for his anglers fishing ocean structure with flounder, bluefish and some triggerfish.

Captain Chris Mizurak of the Angler reported that sea bass were picky today, but there was a good bite for flounder for those that stuck to it. There were several nice fish brought on board with a few limits of four fish in the mix.

Captain Mike Burt and “Captain” Finn had a great time putting their party on the Pumpin’ Hard on some nice blueline tilefish.
Yesterday, Reece Schindler had a limit of flounder up to 20″ fishing with Gulp over ocean structure, and today Rick Daiker caught his limit of flounder up to 19″ on bunker at the route 50 bridge.
Jack Elliott reported this nice 20″ flounder that his crew caught fishing behind Assateague Island today.
Anglers fishing on board Chasin’ Tides Charters had some fun yesterday catching rockfish and tautog at the Route 50 bridge and OC Inlet.
Captain Monty Hawkins of the Morning Star reported a nice day at sea with an “OK” bite
