It was a hot one today….on land and on the water. Temperatures on the beach were pushing 100 degrees today, but the humidity wasn’t too high so it was at least bearable. It was also hot in Massey’s Canyon first thing this morning as the chunking fleet had some awesome tuna fishing early on. Fishing for the inshore fleet was good as well as the party boats and inshore charters had some luck with the flounder, sea bass and even some mahi.
Rhonda’s Osprey with Captain Joe Drosey had some great fishing in Massey’s Canyon early on this morning. Captain Joe put his crew on 13 nice yellowfin tuna and was back to the dock by 10:30 this morning.
Captain Dave Black on My Cin got in on the early bite at Massey’s this morning too. The crew of My Cin put 10 yellowfin in the box and was back to the dock at Sunset Marina by 11:15.
The crew of the Spring Mix II was out for a trolling trip at the Hot Dog today. Captain Chris Watkowski and mate Ayrton Pryor put their anglers on three really nice gaffer mahi trolling ballyhoo.
The crew of the Lisa with Captain Stu Windsor and mate Captain Dave Hagner have been having some really good luck with the tuna. Here are some shots from the Lisa from the past few days of successful fishing, including one young angler’s first ever tuna.
The party boat Morning Star with Captain Monty Hawkins out of The Ocean City Fishing Center had a good bite of sea bass today. The Morning Star also had two keeper flounder and six mahi. The mahi were caught trolling between bottom spots.
Captain John Prather on the inshore charter boat Ocean City Guide Service was in the ocean and the bay today. Captain John put his morning crew on some good spanish mackerel action at the bass grounds, then this afternoon it was five keeper flounder from the south bay caught on live minnows.
Inshore charter Pitboss Fishing with Captain Jeff Coats had some good back bay action today. Captain Jeff had the crew of the Bad Influence on plenty of throwback flounder and some good croaker fishing.
The Calico Jack bay fishing party boat has been on the flounder lately as well. Captain Mike Giardina put anglers on nine nice keepers on shiners and squid.
Bear at the Oceanic Pier sent in a couple of photos of Amber Smoker who was at it again fishing the north sea wall. Amber caught a nice keeper rockfish and several throwbacks off of Zoom lures.
