Had the Bay to Themselves

Had the Bay to Themselves

It was nasty today boy…..real nasty!  Strong winds and periods of heavy rain had most people inside and not even thinking about being outside, much less on the water.  It was not a day to be in the bay if you were the faint of heart.  Check out this screenshot of the hearty crew from Ocean City Guide Service with Captain John Prather as they enjoyed a bachelor party “fishing trip.”

You can probably make out the whitecaps in the background and I’m certain you can see the dark grey skies to the north.  Don’t worry….no one was harmed in the making of this fishing report.

Before it got too nasty Captain Jason Mumford of Lucky Break Charters actually had a really good day on the water.  Captain Jason’s text started with “I almost didn’t go”, but ended with the following pics of some terrific sandbar shark action and a really nice black drum caught in the inlet.

The weather looks to shape up a little inshore tomorrow, but it looks like the ocean is closed for the next couple of days.

A few days ago when the ocean was open the crew of the Spring Mix II with Captain Chris Watkowski and mate Ayrton “The Kayak Kid” Pryor caught and released a white marlin and got this cool shot.
