Happy Halloween Everyone! I hope you all had a spooky good time tonight and I hope the kids got lots of candy during their trick-or-treating adventures. Unfortunately for me, my son would rather scare people in my Michael Myers outfit then get me candy so I guess I’ll save a couple of pounds over the next week or two.
The wind is about to blow tomorrow and it’s going to be pretty crappy through Saturday, but after that I and others will be back on the water getting in on some of this great fall fishing that’s going on.
Yesterday Captain Monty Hawkins of the Morning Star pulled anchor early because of the weather, but he was able to get some pretty decent fish in the boat before that. Anglers on Morning Star caught some triggers and a lot of sea bass with a handful of keepers including this 20 1/2” pool winning fish by Lou Lotito from West OC.

Big Bird Cropper called this evening with a great report about the rockfish around the route 50 bridge. Bird said that everyone was catching rock on the first part of the outgoing tide yesterday both from the bridge and from boats. Most of the fish are in the 18-24″ range, but I know there are some keepers mixed in. Bird’s buddy Sean was fishing from a kayak and caught this 20″ speckled trout.

I got the following pic from Craig Davis who said that Nash Rogers was fishing with Captain Clifton Rogers when he caught this stud sheepshead in the OC inlet.

Lock your doors and windows……it’s the night HE came home.
HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!!
