It was another good day of flounder fishing on the ocean going party boat Angler with Captain Chris Mizurak today. Captain Chris reported good fishing with a handful of limits around the rail and some decent fish upwards of three pounds. Fishing was so good that one guy had a double header of keeper flounder on the same drop. Angler also had one mahi come over the rail today too. Captain Jeff Coats of Pitboss Fishing had some luck with the flounder in the back bay today on board the Bad Influence, but they were of the throwback variety. There are a lot of flounder in the bay and fishing is pretty good on the high tide, but you’ll have to weed through some throwbacks in order to catch a flounder. The keeper ratio will improve as we move into the fall and it will be time to start fishing bigger baits like mullet and spot.
