Happy Father’s Day – OCMC Small Boat Tournament Results

It was an absolutely beautiful Father’s Day today and an awesome day to spend with family and get out on the water to do some fishing!

Today was the 2nd and final day of the Ocean City Marlin Club’s Small Boat Tournament and it was a busy day at the scales with 28 of the 34 boats fishing today.  Congratulations to all of the winners and thanks to Dave Messick of Hooked on OC for the pro pics!

Captain Nick Sampson of Mobsquad Fishing had a nice day for his anglers today putting them on a limit of blueline tilefish, some golden tilefish and one bluefin tuna.

Anglers fishing with Captain Chase Eberle on Chasin’ Tides Charters had a nice day in the ocean with flounder, sea bass, bluefish and triggerfish.

Captain Tony Battista of Saltwater Adventures showed his group a good time and put some fat, tasty triggerfish in the cooler.

The McNelis crew had a great Father’s Day with Dad and put a limit of flounder and a nice triggerfish in the boat and were home by 9:30.

Anglers fishing on board the Miss Kathleen out of Bahia Marina enjoyed a beautiful day with sea bass, some triggerfish and several keeper flounder.

Captain Marc Spagnola of Dusk to Dawn Bowfishing isn’t sleeping much with the nice weather, but his shooters on complaining with tons of action day and night for snakehead, catfish, gar, southern rays and cow nose rays.

Captain Pat Petrera and mate Rodney Evans gave Robert Evans an early Father’s Day gift with two bluefin and two bluefish fishing on their private boat out of Indian River.

Captain Monty Hawkins of the Morning Star didn’t have a red hot bite today, but his folks certainly did “knick at em”

Sea bass on a fine Sunday – 6/21/26
Approaching the inlet the ocean looked as calm as our back bays. Was too. Real pretty off there today.
Jimmy & TJ did the deed on today’s reef unit while Big Jon scored an assist with pieces that wouldn’t fit. We headed east.
Saw a lot of sea bass today feeding as they do up in the water some 15/20/30 feet. Usually scratch a day out of it when that behavior is observed.
Sure wasn’t a hot bite, but we did nick away at em.
John was my only angler in double digits; won the pool with a fine sea bass too. We again had no flounder on our sea bass trip. Were a few ling though.
As I was hauling anchor late in the day when a randy bunch of dolphin came by. I brought her up to dolphin speed and they gave us the best bow-riding show this year before reanchoring.
Tomorrow looks like a great day to sleep in. Will write & research while the boys do some light maintenance.
Cheers,
Monty
