I’d like to start tonight’s report by recognizing all of the Americans that served, fought and died protecting our great nation and securing our blessings of liberty. Their sacrifice allows us to live free and do the things that we want to do every day and on this holiday of remembrance. To those of you that have lost loved ones that have served, thank you for your sacrifice as well and God bless.
I had the pleasure of spending the day with some of my good friends doing something that I love today and I couldn’t be more thankful for it. I was able to go to Wachapreague, VA for another trip aboard the Buffalo Hunter Guide Service with Captain Brian Behe and we were joined by Brian’s wife Daina and my good friend and Fish in OC contributor Dale Timmons. I was trying to think of what to say, but I think Captain Brian’s Facebook post said everything perfectly……
“Awesome day in Wachapreague today! Give the weatherman an “A” for effort, but when I went to bed last night it still said “S 5-10,” woke up to ENE. We fished the outgoing tide and weeded through throwbacks for 3 nice ones. Had the honor of having Mr. Dale Timmons on board today along with Scott from Fish in OC and my beautiful wife Daina. Sometimes fishing is only as good as the people you do it with and by that measure today was world class, a true blessing.”
Captain John Prather of Ocean City Guide Service has had a busy Memorial Day Weekend filled with happy clients. Captain John reports good fishing for rockfish, shad and bluefish while casting Z Man baits at the route 50 bridge and the south jetty during both tides and some decent flounder fishing behind Assateauge Island on the outgoing tide. Captain John has even put the occasional black drum in the box.
Blake Gunther of the Ocean City Maryland Fishing Community found some more clean water first thing this morning….he also found another nice keeper flounder.
Captain Chris Mizurak of the Angler reported in that the ocean was a little “lumpy” today, but they did manage some nice sea bass and at least one keeper flounder for anglers on ocean structure.
The Restless Lady crews were back on the ocean this weekend for some tuna and shark fishing. Restless Lady 2 boxed three under bluefin tuna and also released several bluefin tuna and a dusky shark. Restless Lady released 3 blue sharks and three mako sharks as large as an estimated 140 pounds.
