Hard Won Limits

Hard Won Limits

Hit the vid for the Daily Catch at The Ocean City Fishing Center!

We had a little rain this morning, but I don’t think storms amounted to much in OC or nearby.  Anglers on the ocean had to deal with the precipitation and some wind at times, but it was still way fishable and some fillets ended up in coolers.

Captain Shawn Gibson of the Wound Tight had a great day in the canyons today with some very nice yellowfin tuna and some tilefish for his crew.

The Tuna Didn’t cooperate Sunday the 23rd but the tilefish did. Steve McDonald, Tommy McDonald JR, Greg Plaskon and Tom McDonald on the McFish got 10 nice Golden tilefish and a limit of Bluelines to save the day and kill the skunk.

Captain Chase Eberle and the crew of Chasin’ Tides has been busy over the last several trips putting flounder, tuna, mackerel and more in the cooler and releasing some nice sharks on inshore trips.

John, Tina, Ryker and Eddie had a great day on the private boat But Honey catching a 58 pound yellowfin tuna, some Mahi and some bar jacks.

Trent Mullennex from Harman, West Virginia and Ted Proseus from Millsboro, DE went out on Brad Stauch’s private boat Reel Strong out of Sunset Marina and boxed up a variety of fish including a 48 inch King Mackerel on a pink Sea Witch at the Jack Spot.

Anglers on the Tortuga have had great luck putting some keepers in the boat on trips that have been during clean water.

Captain Monty Hawkins of the Morning Star got on the flounder pretty good today even though there were some hard won limits.

Snuck out before the rain and dropped three tog condos on a nameless piece at the Bass Grounds. The reef is looking good. Someone will want to name it, I’m confident. Started fishing soon after. We fished hard all day. Through the rain, ventured many miles as wind picked up,  – tough sloggin! Sure tried to make it happen. For some it did! Hawk had first limit and the pool winner. Gary our next limit.. Some nice fish came aboard – even our very own legend had three in the box. ‘Who’ you say? Oyyyy.. What boat would I have without a podgy, pudgy, rotund representative of royal portliness; our own man-myth-legend, Hurricane Murray his dern-self, in the flesh and plenty of it – who, try as might, would not hook his fourth fish in hopes I might maintain the highest blood pressure possible today! Ahhhh… Each and every fish a victory. Tomorrow and Wednesday are ‘Fish for what’s biting’ trips. Still some spots Wednesday owing a cancelled charter. I’d sure enjoy an easy day. If not? Keeeep Fishing! CheersMonty
