HEY LADIES!!!  Bar South Leads After Day 1 at The Poor Girl’s Open

The 25th Annual Captain Steve Harman’s Poor Girl’s Open is underway and someone is going to win a record payout.  Like most tournaments this year, participation is high and the payout will be one for the record books.  This year there are 149 boats in the Poor Girl’s and total payout is going to be over $200,000.  Governor Larry Hogan stopped by Bahia Marina today where he presented Shawn and Donna Harman with a proclamation in honor of the 25th anniversary of the event.

55 boats decided to give it a go today and scales were busy with some nice catches.  Here is the leaderboard after day 1.

The ladies had a great time at the scales this evening.  I’ll see you there again tomorrow from 4 PM – 7:30 PM.

Captain Monty Hawkins of the Morning Star reported another good day of ocean flounder fishing today.  Flounder George “the fluke slayer” Henning took top honors with a 22.5 incher. Also pictured are Lucas, Gerald, & Nath Askins Of Pittsburgh- Angelo Hammond of Rockville md – Oaul Caughlin OC – Ralph Jones of Dover – Brian & David Walsh of Telford pa – Lou Ricardi of New Egypt nj- Jonathan Ruifrok & Steve Hudgins from Ocean Pines.

Ben Kronberg and crew had a great trip aboard the Chasin’ Tides Charters today with Captain Chase Eberle when they boxed seven keeper flounder, 21 triggerfish and one sea bass.

Gavin Gonsalves, Downingtown, PA, Mike and Connor Beckman, New Brunswick, NJ, Bill Manning, Beallsville, PA

and Floyd the Vizla had a good day in the Sinepuxent Bay with Captain Drew Zerbe and mates Serge Gardner and Matt Harris.  The biggest fish was 18″ and weighed 2 lbs, 4 oz.
Captain Marc Spagnola of Dusk to Dawn Bowfishing found some clean water and put this shooter on a nice souther ray in the south bay.
Bob Bakaric caught this nice 21″ flounder on the Ocean Princess with Captain Victor Bunting yesterday.
