The wind kicked up out of the northeast as expected today and it really roughed the ocean up good. We had overcast skies in the area for a lot of the afternoon too, so it wasn’t the nicest day to be on the water. There was still some good fishing for folks that braved the conditions and hopefully the marlin stick around after the wind lays down after Monday.
The crew of the Boss Hogg with Captain Alex Beane had an incredible day offshore yesterday with a blue marlin release, 14 white marlin releases, a yellowfin tuna and a pile of mahi.
Captain Mark Hoos and the crew of the Marli had a nice day with four white marlin releases and a lineup of mahi.
The crew of the private boat Fluid Dynamics had a great day with the mahi catching over 200 pounds worth of 20-25 pound fish.
Matt Brown caught this jumbo golden tilefish while fishing the Washington canyon.
Captain Chase Eberle of Chasin’ Tides Charters reported that the ocean was angry today my friends, but his crew still landed flounder, sea bass and triggerfish.
Nick Shreve weighed this big 7 pound, 10 ounce flounder at Bahia Marina yesterday after catching it over ocean structure.
Captain Jason Mumford of Lucky Break Charters reported good flounder fishing around the OC inlet today.
