Man it was hot today!! I know I saw 96 on my thermometer, and the weather app on my phone read that the heat index was 103! Tomorrow is supposed to be just as hot…but as long as the fishing correlates with the temperature….I’m cool with it…..pun intended.
Today’s fishing was just as hot as the air for the Fish in OC fleet. Those that went chunking had the best of it.
Captain Rob Skillman on the Moore Bills out of The Ocean City Fishing Center reported that they checked out a few inside spots and finally found a few small yellowfins mixed in with the skippies. Once they were on them, the charter was nonstop reeling. Ended up with 10 in the box, a few blue fish and released 50-60 skippies and yellowfins.
Captain Joe Drosey on board Rhonda’s Osprey had some nice mahi action after trolling in the Poor Man’s Canyon today.
Captain Dave Black on board My Cin out of Sunset Marina had a terrific day chunking the yellowfin at the Hot Dog catching his party 10 fish for the box.
Captain Monty Hawkins on the Morning Star out of The Ocean City Fishing Center submitted two photos of some nice fish. Here is Donna McGinty from Carlisle, PA with an “also ran for the pool” flounder.
William Campbell from Silver Spring hooked into this beautiful 25″ cod which Captain Monty describes as “oddly resurgent along DelMarVa”.
Captain John Prather on board The Ocean City Guide Service has had some more good flounder fishing as of late. Here is a nice catch from The OC Guide Service.
The croaker have also made their annual migration into the back bays of Ocean City which is great news to the inshore party and charter boats because they are great fun for young anglers.
Had an awesome submission to the Facebook page from Brandon Oakley who caught these gorgeous cobia off of Ocean City today as well.
