Man it was some slow fishing today! The offshore fleet had a tough time out in the ocean and there wasn’t much of an inshore bite to speak of either….but the crew of the Brenda Lou out of Sunset Marina caught a once in a lifetime fish.
Fishing on day three of the Ocean City Marlin Club Canyon Kick-Off Tournament, angler Brian Stempowski caught a 125.8 pound yellowfin tuna on a TLD 25 after an hour and forty minute fight. Captain Frank reports that they got “real, real lucky” as the big Allison tuna almost spooled them on it’s initial run. The Brenda Lou was fishing in around 600 fathoms in back of the Rock Pile.

Outside of the tournament, Justin Sizemore and Calvin Jones fishing on the Spring Mix II with Captain Steve Selander and mates Captain Chris Watkowski and Ayrton Pryor had three nice mahi trolling the lumpy bottom.
