The weather was awesome today in Ocean City! The wind laid out from yesterday and was light, it was nice and warm and there was plentiful sunshine. The wind also laid down enough for some of the offshore fleet to get out to the canyons to see if the tuna are still around.
Gene Kenton and his crew braved the rough conditions left over by yesterday’s wind on the charter boat Marli with Captain Mark Hoos and mate Mark Stephens and were rewarded with 8 mani and 23 yellowfin tuna.
Captain John Prather on Ocean City Guide Service had a great day fishing the south jetty. Captain John put his crew on several rockfish on Z Mann plastic baits and had two keeper fish over 28″. It’s not terribly rare to catch keeper rock in the bays of Ocean City, but throwbacks have been getting to most baits before the keepers so it’s nice to see some keepers from an inshore charter partner….and talk about camaraderie….these pictures of Ocean City Guide Service’s fish come compliments of Captain Jeff Coats of another Fish in OC inshore charter partner Pitboss Fishing.
Captain Jeff was able to get the shots of Ocean City Guide Service because he was having his own awesome day on the south jetty. Pitboss Fishing had good rockfish action as well today, but Captain Jeff reports his best fish was just 1″ shy of keeper status. Catching fish is always the goal though, so it was a good day nonetheless.
