We had some pretty awful weather in the area today with some thunderstorms and heavy downpours on several different occasions. The OC Air Show was cut short due to the weather and fishing interests inshore were pretty nonexistent for most. Thankfully, there wasn’t much wind so there was an opportunity to get offshore.
One of the big highlights of today was the catch and release of the first white marlin of the season for Ocean City. The Wrecker with Captain Bobby Layton and mates Zach Little and Cody Smith put angler Hannah Melvin on the rod and she released the fish at 7:25 this morning. This is one of only a couple of times that a female angler has caught and released the first white marlin of the season in Ocean City. Once verified, Hannah will win $5,000 from the Town of Ocean City and Wrecker will win $5,000 from the Ocean City Marlin Club making this a $10,000 fish. Congratulations to Hannah and the crew of the Wrecker!! Many thanks to Jennifer Blunt for the pics!

Today was the 2nd and final day of the Tuna & Tiaras Ladies Only Tuna Tournament and it was a huge success. 63 all lady teams competed for over $143,000 in prize money and in the end here are your winners. Thanks to Sunset Marina, Ocean City Fishing Center and Tuna & Tiaras for the pics.

Captain Chris Watkowski and the lady crew on Spring Mix II had a nice day in the Tunaand Tiaras with four yellowfin tuna.
