Happy November everybody!! I hope you all had a nice, safe Halloween and got lots of candy!
Fishing reports are getting fewer and farther between as we move further into the fall, but there is still plenty of great fishing on the horizon. Flounder fishing in the back bays will be slowing down soon, but tautog and striper fishing in the back bays will pick up before the end of the year. Ocean bottom fishing for flounder and sea bass should get better too as we move into the fall, and there may even be a few straggler mahi out there for the next week or so.
I got a report this week of what may be the last white marlin caught and released off of Ocean City for the 2025 season and it was a big one. Brian Smack, Ben Harding Tyler Brown and Colby Brown were fishing on Brian’s private boat Loaded Up inside the Poorman’s Canyon on October 24 when they were surprised by this estimated 85-90 pound white marlin. The fish was safely released as they went on to catch a box full of mahi.
