I had the pleasure of fishing on board the Spring Mix II with Captain Chris Watkowski, mate Chase Porter, Lloyd Whitehead, Mel and Bobby Connor of Harborside Bar and Grill for a new episode of Hooked on OC and we had a blast. It was Bobby’s 60th birthday today and his present was a big 193 pound bigeye tuna that got us a bunch of steaks. We got jumped by three bigeye tuna at the same time. Lloyd fought his fish for a while until the hook pulled, Bobby fought another and it got completely sharked and then Mel and I tag teamed a bigeye that got hit once by a shark, but luckily made it to the boat. The fish would have been over 200 pounds if not for the steaks that the shark took, but it was still impressive at 193. Awesome time on the water in great weather with some awesome people. Happy Birthday Bobby!!
Captain Chase Eberle of Chasin’ Tides had a real nice day of flounder fishing putting his group on a lineup of nice flatties.
Brian Brannan caught an 18″ sea bass and Mike Ahfeldt caught a 19″ flounder on a trip to the ocean this afternoon.
Captain Marc Spagnola of Dusk to Dawn Bowfishing had a nice day and night for his shooters putting them on the meat.
Captain Monty Hawkins of the Morning Star put together some nice fish fries for his clients on today’ trip to the beautiful ocean.
