Make Crappie Fishing Great Again

Make Crappie Fishing Great Again

Scott Lenox
Scott is the owner of Fish in OC and host of Ocean City's fishing television show Hooked on OC. He has worked in the fishing industry and fished the waters in and around Ocean City for over 25 years.

One of the things I like most about Fish in OC is the diversity of the trip options that we have available for anglers wanting to visit the area.  We have charter boats that offer offshore fishing for marlin, tuna, mahi, wahoo and sharks.  We have inshore charters for flounder, rockfish, tautog, drum and trout.  We have ocean party boats for tautog, sea bass and flounder.  We have inshore party boats for flounder, croaker, bluefish and rockfish.  A couple of our boats offer inshore bow fishing for cow nosed and southern sting rays, and we even have a guide that fishes the eastern shore of Virginia and the Pocomoke River.

One of the great things about my last mention is the fact that the fishery on the Pocomoke River is year round.  The Pocomoke is a very scenic river with great fishing for bluegill, crappie, perch, rockfish and chain pickerel and most of these species are available even in the cold winter months.

Captain Brian Behe of Buffalo Hunter Guide Service is our Pocomoke River option and he was out on the river today showing some clients a great time.  Captain Brian reported hot crappie fishing to start the day that ended up…..well “crappy.”  He did put his clients on some of the bigger crappie that he’s seen this season, some sunfish and at least one nice chain pickerel.  It was a great day on the scenic Pocomoke trying to make crappie fishing great again.
