Today was the first day you could really feel the heat that is on the way for the next couple. The wind is going to blow a little tomorrow and some ocean going boats will cancel, but it should still be fishable in the back bays. Temps are supposed to get into the low 100s with heat indexes possible reaching over 110 so be real careful out there and have some fun.
Captain Chase Eberle of Chasin’ Tides Charters was on the deep drop today and he found a couple of the biggest golden tilefish we’ve seen in a while. Vince found a big 47 pounder and Cuba had a huge 50 pound fish on today’s trip.
It was a good day in the canyon for anglers fishing on board the Wound Tight with Captain Shawn Gibson at the helm. Gigi Martelle from Hughsville, MD caught and released her first white marlin and the crew also boxed eight pretty yellowfin tuna.
Captain Dave Caffrey of On the Run Charters had a good morning in the ocean for his anglers putting them on some nice triggerfish and some keeper flounder.
Captain Kyle Pelino of OC Guide Service has been keeping his anglers busy with some good ocean fishing for flounder and sea bass.
Captain Jason Mumford of Lucky Break Charters found his anglers a “jetty slam” when he helped them box a triggerfish, a keeper tautog and a nice black drum.
Captain Chris Mizurak of the Angler fished a 6.5 hour inshore trip today and had success with some keeper flounder and some nice triggerfish for his folks.
Anglers fishing aboard the Morning Star with Captain Monty Hawkins had a good day finding a few keeper flounder and some very nice sea bass.
