It was another beautiful fall day in Ocean City today. We had light winds, awesome fall temperatures and sunny skies all day. There were lots of anglers out fishing the bay and inlet taking advantage of the nice conditions and the flounder bite that has been stellar over the past week. It was a nice, calm, sunny day offshore as well and there were boats out in the canyons trying there luck with the yellowfin tuna that have been cruising the Baltimore and Washington Canyons.
Glen Hafacker and his crew from New Jersey chartered the charter boat Marli with Captain Mark Hoos and mate Mark Stephens and boxed 12 yellowfin tuna today. Captain Mark reported calm seas and a great bite!
The flounder, red drum, sheepshead and tautog that have been biting so well lately haven’t just been accessible by boat. Bear at the Oceanic Pier has been seeing quite a few of these species from anglers that are fishing the pier and he’s been sending in some great shots. Buddy has caught some nice keeper flounder off of the pier recently and Susan from Manassas, VA had a nice keeper tog.
Ocean City fishing legend Big Bird Cropper was out enjoying the nice weather today and he and his buddy Fred had a great day catching a couple of big keeper flounder…..more than likely on his world famous Roy Rig.
