I’m up in Annapolis talking flounder, scup, sea bass and other stuff and everyone is asking me about the insane bluefin tuna bite that we have been experiencing off of our coast. Well, today I was able to show them just-received photos of some big ones that had just been caught today.
Captain Chase Eberle of Chasin’ Tides Charters has put the tog and sea bass rods in the closet for a minute and has been tangling with the bluefin tuna lately. Today he and his crew caught three bluefin tuna, two “overs” that were released and this 71″ fish that was estimated at 235 pounds.

Captain Dale Lisi of Foolish Pleasures has had a crazy good bluefin season the past several weeks and today it continued. Anglers on Foolish Pleasures had their limit of bluefins today with three “under” fish and one “over”. “Under” fish are 27″ to less than 47″ and “over” fish are 47″ to less than 73″. Anything over 73″ is considered a giant.
Big Bird Cropper and Shawn Flaherty had a nice day with the red drum throwing Roy rigs in the OCInlet.

Rockfish are still biting inshore, check out my trip with Big Bird Cropper!
