This makes two days in a row that I have gotten an awesome report from Captain Joe Drosey fishing on board Rhonda’s Osprey out of Sunset Marina. Captain Joe has been having some really good luck recently with the white marlin and mahi in the canyons. Rhonda’s Osprey finished with 3rd most white marlin points in last week’s MidAtlantic Tournament, and continued his fish catching ways today. Captain Joe and crew put this party on six bailer size mahi, three gaffer size fish (including a large bull) and four white marlin releases. They also got some great shots of the action while they were out.
WASABI-!!
I got a great report from Captain Monty Hawkins on board the Morning Star this evening. Captain Monty reports that Chan Park here keeps Morning Star in all things Korean, including the most bad-ass wasabi EVER. His 5.5 pound fluke DID NOT win the pool. Captain Monty also said that if I EVER get a chance to carve the cheeks from a large fluke, have wasabi and soy sauce ready…and he’s completely serious. “WOW is that good fish.”
Well, if I ever catch another keeper I just might try that!
One person that is catching his parties some keeper flounder is Captain John Prather on Ocean City Guide Service. Captain John hit an inshore wreck again today and put this crew on eight keepers on strip baits.
One of my regular contributors Austin Ensor went to the deep on an overnight trip last night and returned with a report of 10 mahi, one yellowfin, 15 bar jacks and they also released some small bigeye and a mako. Here is Austin having some fun on spinning gear.
