The weather felt more like December today with some wind and a very cold start to the morning. It was rough in the ocean, but with bluefin tuna just 6-12 miles off the beach boats are going to give it a go.
Captain Chase Eberle from Chasin’ Tides Charters and Kevin Twilley went on a freezer meat run today and had success around every corner. First up was a nice 56″ bluefin tuna just 9 miles off the beach that ate a ballyhoo, and then it was a trip to the woods where they harvested a couple of whitetails during MD firearms season.
Captain Chase also reported that another boat was fishing the area with them and had some success with a nice bluefin of their own. Bryan Spath, Sean Dunn and Shane were fishing on their boat Dunn’s Disaster when they landed this beauty of a 60″ bluefin that ate a ballyhoo.
Big Bird Cropper had some fun with the rockfish and red drum in the OC inlet yesterday. Bird used his world famous Roy Rig and released several short stripers with one 35″ fish. He also caught puppy drum at the “sand bar.”
