It was another beautiful weather day today in Ocean City and surrounding…..I’m looking to see what the huge black cloud over Ocean Pines right now does……but today was gorgeous. Tomorrow looks to be similar before it starts to blow a little on Thursday and fishing right now is good so anglers are going to get out and enjoy this weather and this fishing.
Captain Mark Hoos and mate Mark Stephens are a couple of the busiest guys in the charter business. They fish pretty much every day for the next few months and have won the Ocean City Marlin Club award for most tuna by a charter boat like 14 years straight. Knowing that it will be no surprise that they had a good day today. Today Sam Connors from Lewes DE. and his crew mugged up the big yellowfin on the MARLI. They also released four additional yellowfin and a white marlin.
Captain Joe Drosey on Rhonda’s Osprey is a busy guy too. Captain Joe was in the deep today and put his crew on a nice yellowfin, a gaffer mahi and a white marlin release.
The Restless Lady fleet had a fun filled day with lots of yellowfin tuna action in the Washington Canyon. The Restless Lady took Robert Shupp’s party out and boated 12 yellowfin tuna and The Jade II (RL52) had Randy Kilgore’s party and ended the day 14 for 19 yellowfin.
My buddy Big Bird Cropper had my other buddy Dr. Dennis, reel repairman extraordinaire from Atlantic Tackle out today. Bird put Dennis on a bunch of small rockfish, a couple of flounder two at a time and Dennis’s first black drum of 24″.
The flounder fishing in the back bay has been pretty good the past few days with nice clean water conditions. Today the Tortuga with Captain Drew Zerbe had some great throwback action and one keeper from the afternoon trip.
The Bay Bee flounder party boat out of the Ocean City Fishing Center with Captain Cale Layton has been having good luck with keeper flounder on their trips too.
I’ve gotten some great stuff from Bear and Bob from the Oceanic Pier in downtown Ocean City. Bear’s son was able to get on some rock the other night and there are a great number of keeper flounder coming from the pier recently.
