Today was day two of the Ocean City Marlin Club’s Kid’s Classic Tournament and it was another busy one at the scales at Sunset Marina. The Marlin Club put on a HUGE party and awards ceremony tonight so I’ll have results and pics tomorrow.
Boats that decided to venture offshore for tuna today were rewarded with a pretty early bite that produced some nice sized yellowfin tuna. Captain Dave Black of My Cin sent his report in early this afternoon saying he had caught three “jumbo” yellowfin and was back to the dock by noon.
The crew of the Restless Lady with Captain Todd Kurtz and mate Tito had some luck with the big yellowfin today too. This crew ended the day with four 50 plus pound fish in the box.
Captain Joe Drosey of Rhonda’s Osprey put Nancy Kohl and her crew on four nice yellowfin tuna today.
Captain Monty Hawkins of the Morning Star submitted this photo of Terry and Nate Wolbert who “laid the law” on some sea bass today with a really nice catch of fish.
Captain Luke Blume of the C Boys had the boat in the ocean flounder fishing for day 2 of the Kid’s Classic Tournament and had a good day putting the kids on some keepers. The crew actually caught a nice 3.6 pound flounder that tied for 3rd place in the tournament.
The Tortuga with Captain Drew Zerbe got in on the morning bite in the back bay today. This keeper was caught on the 8 AM to noon trip.
Bear down at the Oceanic Pier sent this photo in of Dale from Mansfield, PA who caught a 21″ keeper flounder from the pier on a live minnow today.
Captain Marc Spagnola of Dusk to Dawn Bowfishing was on the water this morning and put some shooters on some cow nosed ray action.
Team Fish in OC fished the bay again today for day 2 of the Kid’s Classic Tournament and did WAY better than yesterday. Our angler Ryan Lenox caught a couple more throwbacks, but he also caught three keeper flounder today. Ryan used white Gulp 5″ swimming mullet and live spot to put fish of 17″, 17.5″ and 21″ in the boat and although he didn’t catch anything that landed on the leaderboard, he had a great time and hooked mom and dad up with some #floundersandwiches.
