We had another pretty awesome day of weather today with light winds, sunny skies and warm temps and there were plenty of folks out fishing even though it’s not the weekend. Ocean bottom fishing was good today, and back bay fishing for blues, rock and flounder was on point as well.
Captain Kane Bounds of the Fish Bound has been all over the flounder over the past several trips. Limits of nice fish per man are the norm with some big fish up to 7 pounds in the mix. Fish Bound is also targeting mackerel and bluefish inshore and big golden tilefish offshore.
The crew of the Spring Mix II with Captain Chris Watkowski and mate Chase Porter stayed inshore today where they had great luck trolling up 30 mackerel and some bluefish.
Captain Nick Skidmore and the crew of Jacked Up have been doing some shark fishing over the past several trips and are having great luck. Jacked Up is releasing several mako sharks per trip and has caught and released hammerhead sharks up to an estimated 600 pounds.
Rich Daiker and Reece Schindler had a nice day at the route 50 bridge putting some big bluefish and a fat 23″ flounder in the box.
Luke Wrye continued his route 50 smackdown today adding a nice 31″ bluefish to his resume.
Riley Pruitt of Alltackle OC caught this nice big bluefish from the route 50 bridge at night.
Scott Rohrbaugh caught this big 42″ hound fish at the route 50 bridge.
Anglers on the Tortuga saw some good flounder fishing this morning with some keepers for Lake Crisco.
Captain Chris Mizurak of the Angler reported another mixed bag today with some good fishing and flounder up to 4.25 pounds.
Anglers on board the Judith M have seen some good fishing the past few days with flounder, sea bass and some nice triggerfish coming over the rail.
Captain Marc Spagnola of Dusk to Dawn Bowfishing isn’t sleeping anymore so the rays, gar and snakeheads shouldn’t either.
Douglas Jones had the kids out on the Chesapeake Bay for Father’s Day and had some of the “best rockfishing he’s ever seen.”
