There may be a lot of motorcycles on the street in and around Ocean City, but there weren’t too many boats on the ocean today. It started blowing northeast yesterday, today it got a little worse and it looks to blow through sometime next week. Good news is that the water in the back bays is clean so fishing back there should still be pretty good if you can find a spot out of the wind.
Today, Mike Behney of Rick’s Bait & Tackle and Jeff Behney headed out on the private boat Lead Farmer and found this stud of an 88.5 pound wahoo. The big fish was caught 30 fathoms outside the Hot Dog in bumpy conditions.
Captain Dave Caffrey of On the Run Charters had a couple of good trips today. This morning it was grey trout to a nice 21″, a keeper sized slot rockfish and five flounder up to 5 pounds. This afternoon it was a keeper flounder and three more trout.
