As we inch closer and closer to what looks like a substantial blow starting Saturday into Sunday, today was yet another beautiful day for fishing. It was hot as blazes, but it was beautiful!
Captain Monty Hawkins of the Morning Star has been seeing some pretty good flounder fishing over ocean structure recently, but today was as good as it gets. Captain Monty reported having to stop fishing because Morning Star had a complete boat limit of flounder today. Yep, every angler on board caught their four fish limit and Captain Monty brought her to the barn. Greg Hellman of Baltimore took the pool with a 23.5 inch fluke. Also pictured are George Ericsson of Lansdale, PA – Mickie Pfarr of Baltimore – Man, Myth, Legend, Hurricane Murray of Ellicott City, MD – Kathy Creel of OC – Greg Gentrowski of Millsboro, DE – & David Sliwinski of Baltimore.

Captain Chris Mizurak of the Angler also reported good fishing today. Angler had to sort through a picky bite, but numbers added up nicely by the end of the trip with fish up to 3 pounds.

Captain Corey Kenningto of the Boss Hogg sent me a couple of pics today from recent offshore trips. Yesterday Boss Hogg had a crazy good day with a limit of tile fish, some mahi, six white marlin releases and a sailfish release. Mates were Marshall and Uncle Buck. Today it was good fishing again for the “Hogg” with 5 white marlin releases and 25 mahi for the box.

Captain Joe Drosey of Rhonda’s Osprey put Donna, Alex and Phillip on two white marlin releases.

Tom Diven caught this beauty of a 55 pound wahoo yesterday while fishing the hotdog with Dave Warner and Al Smith. Fish ate a skirted ballyhoo.

Lawrence, Kristopher and Kenneth Oleginski caught this nice haul of mahi while trolling naked ballyhoo and artificials southeast of the Jackspot.

Emily Marchini of Massapequa, NY, John Marra of Queensbury, NY and Rebecca Marraof Roxford NY caught these flounder while fishing shiners and squid on the Tortuga with Captain Drew Zerbe and mate Matt Haris. The largest fish was 18″ and 2 pounds, 5 ounces.

Bear down at the Oceanic Pier sent this photo of Mike from Pittsburgh, PA who caught this 17″ keeper flounder from the pier on Dorchester street.
