When scales opened today at the 29th Annual Ocean City Tuna Tournament Emcee Dave “Coconut” Hedges announced that we would be recognizing three tuna species from the tuna family…the yellowfin tuna, the bigeye tuna and the bluefin tuna. By the time the scales had closed this evening at 7:30, we had seen all three species of tuna and there was at least one fish in every category of the event. It was a good first day on the dock. Thanks to Dave Messick of Hooked on OC for the great shots!

Outside of the tournament I got a report from Wes Pollitt of the Morning Star with Captain Monty Hawkins reporting some decent fishing. Wes says everyone went home with dinner and there were some decent sea bass and flounder.
Captain Chris Mizurak on the Angler reported that the fishing was relatively slow today, but they did have some nice sea bass including this nice four pounder.
Captain Jeff Coats of Pitboss Fishing caught himself a huge triggerfish today on the Bad Influence, and a great shot of the sunrise on a flat calm ocean this morning.
The bowfishing in the back bays of Ocean City continues to be productive. Captain Marc Spagnola of Dusk to Dawn Bowfishing put his crew on some nice shooting today when they harvested a nice houndfish and this 79.4 pound southern ray.
