Day three of the 29th Annual Ocean City Tuna Tournament was pretty busy for having the least amount of boats fishing out of the three eligible days. There was some movement on the leader board as well as there were a couple of big stringers weighed, and if I didn’t see it myself I wouldn’t believe that there would be a FOUR way tie for 3rd place largest tuna. Big thanks to Jen Blunt, Rolfe Gudelsky, Brian Tinkler, and all of the staff of the Ocean City Tuna Tournament for an awesome event. Big thanks to Dave Messick and Mike Tyler of Hooked on OC for the great shots of the tournament! Here’s who won what….

Congratulations to all of the winners in the 29th Annual Ocean City Tuna Tournament!
Outside of the tournament there has been some pretty good tuna fishing too. Captain Dave Black on board My Cin out of Sunset Marina caught two bluefin tuna and a nice mahi. One of the bluefin was missing a tail after it had an altercation with a hungry hammerhead shark.
Wes Pollit, who some refer to as “The Most Interesting Mate in the World” sent me a cool pic of today’s trip with Atlantic Traffic Safety. The crew had a great day on the Morning Star with Captain Monty Hawkins catching some beautiful sea bass.
The flounder fishing in the back bays of Ocean City, especially around the route 50 bridge is awesome right now. You have to weed through a bunch of throwback fish, but there are plenty of keepers to be had as well. This crew had some nice keeper sized fish with Captain John Prather on Ocean City Guide Service.
My buddy Nick Denny has been having some good luck with the flounder too fishing from the route 50 bridge. Nick had a couple of keepers today on bucktails and white Gulp baits.
Captain Jeff Coats of Pitboss Fishing had the Bad Influence out on the water today. The fishing wasn’t great, but the company was, and he was able to get me our first shot of the croaker that have arrived in the back bays. Time to get out the Fishbites!
