When I drove out of the parking lot at the Ocean City Fishing Center the other night after getting some shots of Captain Jeremy Blunt’s awesome day of tuna fishing, I saw Captain Monty Hawkins of the Morning Star down in his engine room with the lights on and I knew immediately why I haven’t gotten a fish report from him in the past few weeks. I was super glad to get one from him today!
Hello From Partyboat Purgatory!
Weatherman said 10-15 & I believed him. Silly me..
Said it would drop out too.
Well, it blew 20-25 NW. Right saucy. It did fall out though. By 1pm it was pretty. Flat calm on the way in.
Despite the wind a couple clients bagged out on sea bass. Quite a few boated double digits.
Had a nice scup & a trigger along with some fat snapper blues too.
With 6 new pistons in my port engine, it was great just to be out again!
Pool winner was Butch Walter of Berlin with a 17.75 inch cbass – coming right behind was Ms Pat Somers of Salisbury with a sea bass just a shade smaller. Kevin Brown of Bowie, MD had a 14inch fork-length scup and Mark Schisler of Glen Burnie had a 15 in fl trigger. Also pictured are Bill Davidson of Woodbine, MD – Jeff Matteson of Ocean Pines – Carolyn Knauer of Eden MD – Rommel Simpson of Upper Marlboro MD – Brenden Sawaclski of Quakertown PA – John, Sarah, & JP Daley of Trumbauersville PA – and Brian Fenstermacher of Quakertown PA.

Captain Monty also reports that the weather looks reel nice for early next week and he’s got plenty of space at the rail.
